My Background in a nutshell
I’m not one of those yoga teachers who grew up surrounded by chanting or meditative practices.
Nope, I was completely focussed on becoming a dancer, travelling the world spending my time in rehearsal spaces and dance studios.
I think I first heard the word yoga, in the context of flowing postures, when I moved to London in my early 20’s.
The practice of yoga postures became a heaven to me.
Whenever I paid for a class, rolled out one of the studio mats and commenced the moving and breathing with complete strangers, I felt a sense of deep connection and inner peacefulness that I didn’t even realise I was lacking.
I became a yoga teacher in 2011, a year after I lost my dad to a heart attack caused by genetics but triggered by work-related stress.
From that life-changing moment, I wanted to be part of a movement that simply helps people feel better, less stressed out and more hopeful in their day to day lives.
Zoom forward in time, to this present day, I am still guiding people in and out of postures, encouraging conscious awareness of breath and the importance of deep rest and nourishment.
I think that the yoga practice speaks for itself. Every person takes from it what they need at the time.
